Mr. Yahata has asked this office to respond to your letter dated August 3, 1995, received on August 4, 1995, making a request for documents under the Public Records Act.

In response to your request, the Department will make available copies of the following identifiable documents described in your Appendix A as follows:

    1. 1974 APS Drawings and quantities (4.1.2.1) This material is included in the tunnel feasibility study under item 2, below.

    3. Summary of Feasibility Study for Tunnel Alternative (4.1.4.2)
Item #4.1.1.1 was discussed with you by Bijan Sartipi of the Caltrans Design Office on August 10, 1995. The M.L. Shank letter, dated March 20, 1995, was part of a package of material sent to Caltrans by commentors on the SEIS. Copies of the Shank letter did not have drawings 1 and 2 as an attachment.

The balance of your requests must be rejected as not calling for reasonably identifiable records within the meaning of the Act. (Government Code [section] 6250 et seq.).
